Following the comments made in recent student and parent catering surveys, we have been working with our school caterers, Holroyd Howe, to relaunch the food offer available to students.
The new menus for Lent Term 2018 are now confirmed and as part of the offer to students, menus have been created to allow greater variety and choice. We will be trialling these menus throughout the Lent Term and students will be invited to provide ongoing feedback to Holroyd Howe.
The offer will continue to be aligned to the Holroyd Howe core values of fresh, local, seasonal, nutritionally balanced and fun food and an initial four week menu will allow for greater variety and choice for the students.
There will be a series of engagement activities:
- A Nutrition Assembly focusing on education through food and right food, right time to match student activities and eating for performance.
- A Chef Demo – a Juice Bar day with fun activities including the 'Smoothie Bike'.
- Watts Farm Supplier day - with fruit and vegetables on show to increase awareness and engagement.
- ‘Ask the Chef’ day - where the students will be able to interact with our development Chef and discover the ingredients used in their food - to enhance their learning and awareness of healthy eating benefits.
We will also be engaging in various feedback mechanisms to allow students to feedback their views on the dishes, food and activities undertaken. These will include Voting buttons, Feedback cards, catering committee meetings and a ‘Have your say’ board.
