A typical day at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School begins with a hearty breakfast then Assembly or a short Chapel service, followed at 8.40am by two 50-minute lessons. After a 25-minute morning break there are two more lessons, followed by a nutritious lunch in the main School Dining Hall at 12.40.
Afternoon lessons are followed by a games session or club activities. Physical Education plays a key role at the school, and the sports slot might be anything from rugby or tennis to swimming or athletics, taking advantage of the school’s outstanding facilities. After supper and before prep, it’s free time and many students chat on-line or by phone with Mum or Dad, and eventually it’s time for bed and lights out. Below are examples of the Academic, Boarding and Meal Timetables.
