Why choosing DOYRMS for your Sixth Form studies makes sense

Our VI Form Prospectus shares the benefits of studying in the Sixth Form at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, and details the range of A Level courses on offer.

If you would like to study with us, please print off and complete the Application Form and return it to us by Friday 6 January 2012. If you can list five A Level subject choices in order of preference, we can then draw up a timetable that gives as many students as possible their chosen options. A timeline shows you the process of entry. ..

We will consider anyone wishing to study with us but please note that we are a full state boarding school, and our boarding fees are currently £9,750 per annum.  If you have a parent serving in the forces, you may qualify for CEA and our fees would then be less than £1,000 per annum.  Contact us to find out more.

We are proud of our students’ achievements.  We consistently outperform both the Kent and National average for our exam results.  As well as our excellent academic results, the benefits of studying with us in the Sixth Form include:

  • Working in a friendly and supportive environment.
  • We are an inclusive Sixth Form where we deem every grade equally valuable.
  • We recognise that students have different needs and different abilities.
  • We believe that each student can achieve whatever they want and would like to help them attain the very best that they can.
  • You will have a tutor who is there to support you and who, with the Head of Sixth Form, will offer help and advice through tutor time, mentoring and interviews and the continuous review of your academic progress.
  • We provide expert guidance in completing university applications and provide opportunities for Oxbridge entrants. On ‘A’ Level results day in August we offer a full student support service in order to ensure that students secure their university places.
  • You will also benefit from a  new independence, leadership opportunities, CCF, a range of sports and activities and outdoor pursuits

If you have any questions regarding A Levels and Sixth Form studies or fees, please contact the Head of Sixth Form, patrick.barber@doyrms.com
