English, Maths and Science to Drama

A typical day at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School begins with a hearty breakfast then Assembly or a short Chapel service, followed at 8.40am by two 50-minute lessons. Subjects range from English, Maths and Science to Drama, Modern Languages and Product Design, taught in an engaging and interactive way by teachers who are passionate about their work. After a 25-minute morning break there are two more lessons, followed by a nutritious lunch in the main School Hall at 12.40.

Physical Education is a Specialism

Afternoons begin with a games session or Club activities, sometimes followed by two more lessons ending at 5pm. Physical Education is a specialism here, and the sports slot might be anything from rugby or tennis to swimming or athletics, taking advantage of the school’s outstanding facilities. After supper and prep, most pupils busy themselves with activities through one of the myriad School Clubs they have opted to join. Some children chat on-line or by telephone to Mum or Dad, and eventually it’s time for bed and lights out after toast and a hot drink.
