Key Stage 3

Our Key Stage 3 programme spans three years, offering a comprehensive range of subjects to develop students academically, physically, and socially. Alongside core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, students explore History, Geography, Religious Education, Art, Drama, Dance, and Physical Education, with the option to learn French or Spanish. Year 9 marks the beginning of the GCSE preparation journey, where students select subjects tailored to their interests and career aspirations.

Key Stage 4 – GCSEs

In Year 10 and 11, students delve deeper into core subjects while pursuing four elective subjects from a broad spectrum. Our curriculum is complemented by evening prep sessions to enhance independent learning and supported by a well-equipped library curated by our dedicated Librarian. Additionally, students receive comprehensive careers guidance, drawing from the expertise of our alumni to prepare them for future endeavours.

The GCSE subject guide aims to assist you in making well-informed GCSE choices. Please be aware that the subject information provided is accurate at the time of publication; adjustments to course content may occur to benefit students and align with advice from examination boards.

Key Stage 5 – A Levels

Advanced Levels (A Levels) are subject-based qualifications that offer pathways to university, further study, training, or employment opportunities. Recently, A Levels have transitioned to a linear format, culminating in examinations at the end of the two-year period, with reduced coursework requirements in most subjects.

BTECs are specialist, work-related qualifications that blend practical learning with theoretical content, emphasising project-based assessment with few examinations.

Students have the option to pursue BTEC Level 3 qualifications alongside A Levels, offering a comprehensive educational experience.

Key Stage 5 – Enrichment

The School’s enrichment program is tailored to provide each student with the opportunity to enhance their education through valuable and relevant qualifications. Every Sixth Form student will engage in one enrichment course over the two-year period, all of which lead to nationally recognised certifications, facilitating pathways to further education or direct entry into the workforce.

Enrichment options include Accreditation in Languages in Business, AS Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology & Physics Olympiads, Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Gold Arts Award, Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Higher Sports Leader, and TEFL.
