Support Us & Alumni

As we look forward with confidence in providing the highest quality of education to ensure students’ learning is at the heart of everything we do, we also look back with pride on the many extracurricular opportunities our students experience.

These opportunities really are a strength of the School. They enable students to grow in confidence, develop resilience and acquire leadership skills that are necessary to thrive in a competitive world. The generous donation of time, energy and fundraising have contributed enormously to this.

As we invest in our students now, we invest in what they will be doing in years from now. Through our donors’ dedication, our students can take advantage of what is on offer both inside and outside the classroom where they are supported to challenge and push themselves. When most students feel something is too hard, they might say “I can’t do that…” Dukies rephrase it and say “I can’t do that… yet!”

The Dukies' Foundation

Through the generous donations given to the school, many projects, trips, experiences and even access to specialist equipment have been made possible. Some of the most rewarding impact has been through bursaries, which have allowed students to stay with us and remain on this journey. This is an aspect we dearly wish to continue and expand.

Our Charity
Students (past and present) are known as “Dukies” from the day they start at the school with “once a Dukie, always a Dukie” emotionally carved into their hearts forever more.

The Dukies’ Association

The Dukies’ Association (TDA) offers automatic free enrolment, and welcomes and unites past and present Dukies of all ages. TDA was formed in 2013 after it was recognised that many past pupils wanted to ‘give back’ to their School through donations of time, ideas, careers support and funding. The official launch of The Dukies’ Association took place at the School’s original site, Duke of York’s HQ (now Saatchi Gallery) in London on Friday 27 September 2013.

Via The Dukies’ Association you will be able to:

  • Keep up to date with news via a regular ‘Dukie News Update’ email and annual Dukie News magazine.
  • Stay connected to your peers at various events held throughout the year.
  • Network with other Dukies.
  • Keep us updated with any special news and achievements after leaving DOYRMS.
  • Enthuse future students at DOYRMS – Dukies inspiring Dukies.

Throughout the year, various events are held for the alumni to reunite and get together. Sport continues for many out of the School gate, and Dukies often return to play against the School’s top team, currently we host Cricket and Hockey. We also have our annual trip to Twickenham to watch the Army V Navy Rugby match, a great, fun event for all.

Remembrance Weekend remains close to all Dukies’ hearts, a ticketed Reunion Dinner is held on the Saturday evening, a time to reflect and catch up with peers and staff. On Remembrance Sunday we invite all alumni to join us for the day. All event information is sent out to Dukies that have signed up to The Dukies’ Association.

The Dukies’ Association

The Dukies’ Association is chaired by Dukie Chris Winter, Partner at EY. TDA Panel Members give their own time to attend meetings in London to guide the development of TDA and discuss future events, fundraising, reunions, networking opportunities and careers support.
