Since its inception in 2011, TDF has awarded grants exceeding £800,000. It increasingly benefits from donations by former Dukies, which surpassed its initial target of 100 members in 2019. This primary income stream comprises regular subscribers and single donors, including those pledging legacies in their wills, with current commitments numbering 10.
TDF operates specific sub-funds to address student financial need, maintain the Dukie Memorial at the National Arboretum, and enhance leadership programs and resources. Notably, the Foundation supports initiatives such as the White Rose Academy, focusing on improving hockey performance and motivation. Additionally, TDF allocates grants to enhance faculty equipment and resources, including the state-of-the-art Nye Hall, and facilitate student access to online learning resources and educational experiences beyond the classroom.
Donations to help the Dukies of today are always very welcome and can be made towards:

A charitable legacy encompasses donations of monetary funds or other assets. Within this realm, two primary types of legacies exist: pecuniary and residuary. Pecuniary legacies designate a specific sum of money or valuable item for donation, whereas residuary legacies enable you to contribute a percentage of your estate’s net value or the remainder after providing for your loved ones.
To leave a legacy to the Duke of York’s Royal Military School, you can include details of the donation in your Will. This can be accomplished by drafting a new Will, adding an amendment known as a ‘codicil’ to an existing Will, or establishing a Trust.
