Welcome to the Sixth Form at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School, where academic excellence meets personal growth and leadership development. As students embark on this exciting journey, they discover a vibrant community dedicated to fostering intellectual curiosity, nurturing talents, and preparation for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. With a diverse range of academic courses, enrichment programmes, and co-curricular activities, our Sixth Form offers a unique blend of academic rigour and holistic education. Whether students aspire to pursue further studies at top universities, embark on a rewarding career, or serve in the Armed Forces, our supportive staff and comprehensive resources are here to guide them every step of the way.
Sixth Form students have the flexibility to pursue A Levels, BTECs, or a blend of both academic routes. Additionally, they have the option to undertake an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), offering them a chance to delve deeper into a subject of their choice. Alongside these academic pursuits, students can engage in a variety of extracurricular activities such as pursuing the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Gold Award or obtaining a LAMDA qualification.
In addition, to a diverse academic curriculum, students have access to numerous enrichment opportunities, allowing Sixth Formers to expand their horizons, develop new skills, and collaborate with peers. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing personalised support, guiding students towards unlocking their academic potential. Led by our Head of Sixth Form and supported by a dedicated Sixth Form Learning Mentor, we ensure that each student receives the individualised attention and guidance they need to thrive academically and personally.
We are proud to offer Academic Scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, obtaining 3 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s in their GCSE examinations. These Scholarships undergo means testing before being awarded, ensuring they are accessible to deserving students from all backgrounds.
