Alumni and Development Officer– Full-time


Are you looking for a new start or relocation to Kent in 2018?  We have an exciting career opportunity in this unique and iconic setting on a 150 acre site near to the White Cliffs of Dover.   


Established in 1803, we are a state boarding School for students aged 11 to 18.  Originally set up to educate the children of serving soldiers, the School still educates children from military families as well as those who wish to buy into our military ethos and traditions. As students boarded with us during their time here, many have forged life-long friendships, and a strong connection with the School.


We are seeking an Alumni and Fundraising Officer who will be responsible for the development, planning and implementation of alumni events and fundraising initiatives, concentrating on further enhancing mutually beneficial relationships between current students and old Dukies.

The post holder will ideally have experience of events management, be highly IT literate, and having the ability and motivation to work collaboratively. Experience or understanding of fundraising, charities, marketing and/or the concept of development in education will be an advantage.


Salary: DYRMS scale 6 (£21,511 to £24,473 pa).   


Full time role but additional hours may be required to fulfil the role at times.  Accommodation on site may be available.  House rental charge Inc. water, for a 3 bed house is £450 per month with no deposit required.

Alumni and Development Officer Job Description 


30 Hours – All Year

Provide an essential cleaning services in a boarding house including deep cleaning during holidays assist in the absence of the Pastoral Leaders i.e. answer telephone, deal with parents, updating SIMS.  Applicants must be prepared to fully contribute to the general welfare of students and to work as part of a small team.  Experience of cleaning is essential. Working with children, a knowledge of IT and current first aid qualification would be an advantage. 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 0800 till 1400 hours .  Salary: £12,136 per annum.

Housekeeper Job Description


Residential Graduate Assistants

Years Placement from end of August 2018 till July 2019

We have an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in teaching, working in an educational environment or just gaining some work experience in areas such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Facilities Management or IT.   The positions are designed to allow you to gain experience of working in a thriving boarding School while assisting with sports, other academic and administrative departments.  

Candidates will be highly motivated and fully prepared to undertake the demands of working in a number of busy and active departments.  The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently is key to their success and a willingness to participate fully in boarding life is essential.  A salary of £13,697 per annum with accommodation and food are provided in return for Tutoring duties within a boarding house.  An application form can be located below, email or 01304 245023.
