The school has a rich tradition in the Performing Arts and students have the opportunity to engage in a range of performances from serious drama to musical theatre. Our senior musical production this year is 'Guys and Dolls' which will be performed here in the Nye Hall Performing Arts Centre in February.

The Grand Day production this year will be the Junior Musical performance of 'Bugsy', The school will once again be participating in the National Theatre Connections Festival with performances at the school in March and at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, in February. Throughout the year the Performing Arts department presents showcases, short plays and examination performance put on by the students studying Level 2 and Level 3 Drama and Dance.

A number of Dukies have gone into the performing arts after leaving DOYRMS. Anthony Thatcher is a senior choreographer for Trinity Laban and returns to the school to give dance workshops. Other Dukie professionals include John Bowler (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), Ramon Tikaram (TV and film) and Josh Flynn who is a new member of the Royal Marines Military Band.
